2021 Second Prize High School Central- “America’s Creative Economy: The Impact of Covid-19”
StudentCam is C-SPAN’s annual national video documentary competition that encourages students to think critically about issues that affect our communities and our nation. This year students were asked to create a 5-6 minute long video exploring the issue they most want the president and new Congress to address in 2021.
10th grade student Sean Baker from Lincoln High School in Sioux Falls, South Dakota won 2nd Prize for his documentary about artists and the impact of Covid-19, “America’s Creative Economy: The Impact of Covid-19.” As a 2nd Prize winner, Sean receives $1,500 in prize money.
C-SPAN is funded by America’s cable and satellite television companies, who also support StudentCam. In Sioux Falls, C-SPAN is available locally through Midco.
“Midco is proud to continue our partnership with C-SPAN on their annual StudentCam competition,” said Paige Pearson Meyer, Director of Corporate Communications at Midco. “The caliber of work that Sean produced is commendable and we offer our heartfelt congratulations.”
